What is Facial Implant Surgery?

Facial Implants - Procedure

All types of facial implant surgery are typically performed under general anaesthesia, and typically take between 30 – 90 minutes. In appropriate situations, it is possible to undergo facial implant surgery under local anaesthetic. The surgeon will make an incision in the area where the implant will be placed, and the implant will be carefully inserted into the desired location. Once the implant is in place, the incision will be closed with sutures or surgical glue.

After facial implant surgery, you can expect some swelling and discomfort, which can be readily managed with regular pain and anti-inflammation medication.
