It is possible to reverse and reconstruct the ear following piercing or stretching. This is either as a result of heavy earings causing a piercing to stretch or split due to the weight of earrings or as a result of trauma or due to intentional stretching.
We understand that you may wish to reverse the decisions of the past and will be happy to discuss who this could be done in your specific case. Broadly this will always take the form of removing some skin to re-expose the underlying edges and stitching them together. In the case of stretched earlobes, there may be excess tissue to remove in order to re-establish the shape of the ear.
The techniques and approaches our facial plastic surgeons use will ensure that scarring is hidden as much as possible. The remaining scars would be expected to fade over 6-12 months following surgery with good care. It is however not possible to achieve scarless results.
It is expected that you will be able to wear earrings again. How soon after surgery will depend on the surgical techniques used. This will be fully explained to you during your consultation.
As part of the Cosmetic Surgery Partners patient journey, we provide a psychological assessment before Abdominoplasty surgery. This step is to prepare the patient, enhance their tummy tuck cosmetic surgery journey and support them psychologically if there are any mental health concerns.
