Breast reduction surgery also known as reduction mammoplasty is a surgical procedure which involves removing fat, glandular tissue and skin from the breasts, which are reshaped while the nipples are repositioned. This form of breast surgery is designed to ease the pain and other associated medical problems which occur with large breasts.
Thousands of women suffer as a result of large breasts – from the physical discomfort of the excess weight to the emotional distress it often incurs. While some women have breasts which are naturally too large for their bodies, others find their breasts grow after the menopause or as a result of HRT.
Large breasts can result in back pain, poor posture and skin problems which makes breast reduction surgery one of the most popular in the UK. At Cosmetic Surgery Partners, our dedicated specialist breast surgeon Milles Berry is an expert in both breast reduction and breast augmentation surgery. He offers breast reduction surgery for women and also for men who suffer from breast enlargement known as gynaecomastia (or commonly referred to as moob reduction surgery).
