Otoplasty or ear correction surgery is the procedure to alter to shape, size or the position of your ears. It’s a straightforward surgery and one which can hugely boost your self confidence. Many people have been teased since childhood about the size or shape of their ears. In fact, protruding ears or so-called ‘bat ears’ affect 1-2 per cent of the population.

What support is offered during the healing process?
Following your ear pinning surgery you will be required to attend a series of follow up appointments in order to check that the healing process is going as well as it should be.
In the rare situation that you experience any kind of problems during the healing process following your procedure we offer all patients a 24 hour emergency hotline
Are the results permanent?
Yes. Otoplasty surgery is the only permanent solution to combat the problem of protruding or misshapen ears.
How long is the healing process?
Most patients find that 2 weeks is enough time to recover from the effects of surgery however we advise patients to refrain from strenuous activities such as contact sports for up to 3 months following surgery?
Do I need to spend the night at the hospital?
It depends, in most cases we are able to see patients on a day case basis meaning they will be able to return home following surgery the same day, however in some cases the surgeon may advise you to stay one night in hospital for observation.
How much does the procedure cost?
Ear pinning surgery total cost will vary depending on your specific case however we find that on average most patients spend around £3000 GBP. Your surgeon will be able to advise you more accurately during your initial consultation.
What is the ideal age to have ear pinning surgery?
Although it is our policy to not operate on patients under the age of 18 we find there is no real upper age limit, so long as the patient is in good health.

Is there any other solution to ear pinning surgery?
To be quite clear; when it comes to permanent reshaping and repositioning of your ears there is no other surgical or non-surgical alternative to the otoplasty procedure.
